For over 150 years, The Urbana Free Library has benefited from the generosity of the Urbana community and library-lovers across the country. You can help sustain the success and longevity of the Library — there are many ways to give. 

Archives

The Champaign County Historical Archives, housed within The Urbana Free Library, accepts donations of special collection materials documenting the history of Champaign County.

Foundation 

The Library encourages donations to The Urbana Free Library Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) organization. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible.

Friends 

The Friends of The Urbana Free Library accept donations of gently used books for resale in their book sales – all proceeds go to support the Library.

Library 

The Library accepts monetary donations. Those interested in donating directly to The Urbana Free Library can write a check out to The Urbana Free Library and drop it off at the Library or mail it to 210 W. Green Street, Urbana, IL 61801. 

Gift-A-Book 

If you would like to help purchase a library book in memory or in honor of someone or on behalf of an organization, please fill out this form and mail your donation to The Urbana Free Library, 210 W. Green Street, Urbana, IL 61801. Your Gift-a-Book donation includes a staff-selected book for the Library collection and a personalized book plate acknowledging your gift.  

  • $50 for a book in the adult collection
  • $25 for a book in the children’s collection

Physical Donations 

The Library does not accept physical item donations without the prior approval of the Development Manager. If you have an item you think the Library would be interested in acquiring, please email development@urbanafree.org
