November 22, 2013 marked the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination.

John F. Kennedy spoke at the University of Illinois Quad during the 1960 presidential campaign, two weeks before Election Day. On Monday, October 24, Senator John F. Kennedy spoke outside of the University of Illinois auditorium before an audience of over 10,000 students. His speech lasted approximately ten minutes and focused on foreign affairs. Two weeks later, Kennedy became the 35th president of the United States.
