This photograph was taken in the basement pressroom of the Courier Herald in 1909. The photograph includes most of the paper's staff; even the newspaper boys are featured standing atop a table to the left.
Another exciting feature of this photo is that the majority of those pictured are identified on the photo’s reverse side, as follows: Newsboys, left to right: Leo Klockner, Miles Parmeley, Roy Grimes, unidentified. Center row, left to right: Frank C. McElvain (editor-publisher), James Pinkerton (linotype operator), Frank E. Pinkerton (co-publisher), W.E. Cook (linotype operator), William White (make-up man), unidentified, Harry Johnson (circulation department). Row at right: Mrs. Alice Poucher (bookkeeper), T. Wayne Rea (city editor), Harry Myers (apprentice pressman), “Curly” (printer), Lambert (foreman), “Slim” Glendy (pressman).
