The Champaign County Historical Archives celebrates National Poetry Month in April with a local poets display.
Stop by the Archives this month to read poetry by local authors that is usually kept in our closed stacks. The Archives also houses a special collection, the Jim Jones East Central Illinois Poetry Collection, which includes the works of several local poets including Jim Jones, Alex Sawyer, Patricia A. McGinty, and more. This large collection also houses many issues of The Red Herring Poets, a local publication inspired by poetry workshops held at the Channing-Murray Foundation in Urbana.
