Summer is officially here (as of June 21st)! Escape the heat by visiting your local library and attend some of our fun July teen programs!

July 2nd—Teen Open Lab: From 3:00-5:30 p.m., join us for a little bit of everything! Film-making, 3D printing, music, reading, drawing, crafting, gaming, or just hanging out, the Open Lab has something for everyone!

July 3rd—Pre-4th of July Party! Join us from 3:00-5:30 p.m. as we celebrate Independence Day with games, music, cookies and pizza!

July 5th—Urbana Otaku Manga Club: From 4:00-5:00 p.m., enjoy all things manga, with snacks and prize drawings.

July 6th—Q & A with Award-Winning Author Elizabeth Wein, 4:00-5:00 p.m. I’m very excited to announce that Elizabeth Wein, author of Code Name Verity, will be joining us at the library for an informal Q & A session, and will chat with us about her creative process. Come enjoy this opportunity to meet Elizabeth Wein and help us give her a warm welcome to the community.

Code Name Verity, the story of the friendship between two young British women during World War II, was the recent winner of the 2013 Edgar Award for best young adult mystery/thriller. The title also was named a Michael L. Printz Honor Book in 2013 and shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal.
