cover of Ears board book for babiesEars.  They are wonderful things, aren’t they?  One of the newest books in our collection is named just that – Ears.  In a guessing game format, it encourages young listeners to guess which animal belongs to the ears pictured.  Ears is just one of the many books the Library buys specifically for babies.  Next time you are in the Library, ask one of the staff to show you the Library’s large collection of board books and magazines, designed for babies.  Sturdy pages, rounded corners, engaging pictures, and lots of language play are hallmarks of this format.  If you haven’t already, consider signing-up your baby or grandchild for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.  It takes about 30 seconds to sign-up and builds the foundation for a lifetime of learning.  Hope to see you soon!  -Elaine B.
p.s. Be sure to come to the Library Tuesday mornings for Babies’ Lap Time – songs, rhymes, bouncing, and stories to encourage language development - all for babies!
