Carnival is upon us, and Mardi Gras is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to explore the library’s collection of music from New Orleans! The big easy has always been a hotbed of musical culture, with seminal American styles such as Dixieland and Zydeco tracing its roots to the city and surrounding areas. Other musical styles such as funk, soul, rock, R&B, and hip hop all have been well represented in New Orleans as well. Can’t wait to get into spring?
