Have Book--Will Travel!

It’s that time of year again—school’s almost out for the summer!

As you enjoy the season of homework-free nights and class-free days, be sure to stop by the library for this year’s Teen Summer Reading Program, Have Book—Will Travel!. You can read great books of your choice (including graphic novels and Manga), watch recommended films, listen to audiobooks, read aloud to a younger sibling, write a short book review, and attend programs. The more you participate, the better your chances of winning prizes!!

Joel and I have lots of fun programs planned for June through August, including the Chalk Walk Mini-Golf competition; a Superheroes vs. Villains Party; a pre-day 4th of July celebration; Yoga 101 for Teens; and, our annual Manga Mini-Convention!

Also, don’t forget about our regular monthly programs, including Art Day @ Your Library, Urbana Otaku Manga Club, 2nd Saturday Video Games, and the new Teen Open Lab.

The dates and times for all our programs can be found through the library’s ecalendar, or on the events schedule available both at the library and HERE.

As exciting as the programs will be, they’re not as great as our new online Summer Reading Program. That’s right, this year for Have Book—Will Travel, you can read wherever you go!

Participants can sign up and track their reading online or via their favorite handheld device.
