How to get Applying for a library card only takes a few minutes! Anyone who lives or owns property within the city limits of Urbana (Cunningham Township) is eligible for a free library card. To get a library card you must present your ID and something that verifies your current Urbana address, such as a recently postmarked piece of mail. To distinguish individuals with common names from one another, we also require that applicants provide a full birth date (month, day, yesr). Library cards for residents are valid for two years from the date of issue. There are no age restrictions for library card applicants, but parents or guardians must sign for all children not yet enrolled in grade 6.
