Home Delivery Service

home delivery

If you have a physical condition that prevents you from coming to the library, and don't have anyone who may stop by the library for you, you don't have to give up reading!

If you are a City of Urbana resident, you may qualify for the library’s very convenient home delivery service. Once you have signed up, the library's expert team of volunteers will select items for you based on your interests and deliver them to your residence each week.

Contact Adult Services at 367-4405 to see if you qualify for the home delivery service and for more information. If you reside in a nursing home or a retirement center, your activity director can provide you with a library card application.

Supplemental Delivery to Clark-Lindsey Village, Canterbury Ridge, and Prairie Winds Retirement Communities

Library cardholders residing in Clark-Lindsey Village, Canterbury Ridge, and Prairie Winds retirement centers may also receive supplemental delivery and pickup of library materials. If you already have a library card from The UFL and would like to be added to the supplemental delivery list, please call Circulation Services at 367-4057.

Signing up for the supplemental delivery service offers you the flexibility to come to the library to make your selections, use the library's online catalog to place hold requests, and, if you wish, enjoy the convenience of weekly delivery. The choice is yours!

If you do not yet have a library card, stop by Circulation Services on the main level of the library to sign up. Applying for a card only takes a few minutes! Just present your ID and something that verifies your current Urbana address, such as a recently postmarked piece of mail. Information about The Urbana Free Library and library card applications are also available from the activity director of your retirement community.
