Hello again. A lot has happened since we last conversed. And maybe I'm moping a little, because I, Furball the Hamster, was supposed to be the main event this summer. (At least that's what it says in my contract.) But the people-types around here have brought in a host of other animals for the Summer Reading Program. More live animals are coming to the Urbana Free Library Children's Department in July. (In June, we hosted dogs and miniature horses plus Furball, our summer hamster friend.) Now, in July, there will be birds, snakes, and turtles. Read more about Animals at the Library

It is almost that time of the year when we say "Thank you!" to all of the volunteers who have shared their time and talent with the library. Today I want to give a special "Thank you" to four very special volunteers who helped at the library this week: Daisy, Kallie, Mocha, and Sam. Yes, these four fabulous volunteers are DOGS!
