Yesterday, a group of students grades three to six gathered during the library's Write On! creative writing workshop. One of the activities was to create poetry from book spines. Hello again. A lot has happened since we last conversed. And maybe I'm moping a little, because I, Furball the Hamster, was supposed to be the main event this summer. (At least that's what it says in my contract.) But the people-types around here have brought in a host of other animals for the Summer Reading Program. (By the way, it's not too late to sign-up and log your books by August 31!) Read more about This Place is for the Birds!
More live animals are coming to the Urbana Free Library Children's Department in July. (In June, we hosted dogs and miniature horses plus Furball, our summer hamster friend.) Now, in July, there will be birds, snakes, and turtles. Read more about Animals at the Library
Animal themed programs abound this June in Children's Services of the Urbana Free Library. Our Summer Reading Program theme is Paws to Read, so we are offering many exciting animal themed programs this summer. Read more about Animal Programs = Summer Fun
