And that’s not all she can do. Lindsey Stirling is an all-out entertainer. She composes, choreographs and performs. She even produced her own self-titled album, which mixes the classical violin with dubstep beats. She has been dominating the dance/electronic and classical-crossover charts for nearly a year*, not bad for someone who only made it to the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent. Since being dismissed from the show, she has been blowing up the internet with her amazing music videos (I recommend checking out “Elements” or “Crystallize”), gaining fans all over the world (over a million fans on facebook and over 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube) and touring the globe. Oh, and also residing in the popular music section of the Urbana Free Library.
*You might ask, what the heck is classical-crossover? We ask ourselves a similar question every time we try to catalog an album from this genre. Some other artists who frequent this category are The Piano Guys, Andrea Bocelli and The Tenors.
