During the week of April 9-15, The Urbana Free Library joins libraries in schools, campuses, and communities nationwide in celebrating the many ways libraries are transforming their communities every day through the services and invaluable expertise they offer.
National Library Week is a time to highlight the changing role of libraries, librarians, and library workers. Libraries aren’t only a place of quiet study, but also creative and engaging community centers where people can collaborate using new technologies, learn how to use a 3D printer, and check out an exciting array of new collections, such as 3D science kits, guitars, amps, and video games.
We invite you to celebrate National Library Week with us! Stop by to check out something new from the collection or attend a program. Enjoy a drink at the Cafe or get a Library card (if you don't already have one). You can also join us on Twitter @urbanafree as we post updates throughout the week. And feel free to share your National Library Week selfies.
See you at the Library!
