We’ll “take you out to the ballgame” as Ernie Westfield, star pitcher of the Negro Baseball League, keeps history alive by sharing stories and poems about his experiences in the League. Moonlight Edition Wednesday, May 7 Monday, May 19 6:30 - 7:00 PM For ages 6 to 24 months with an adult. Join us for rhymes, music, and games for the youngest of our library patrons. Toddler Time May flowers and the bugs that love them Wednesday, May 7 10:30-11:00 AM For ages 2 to 4 years with an adult. April showers bring May flowers… and also bugs back into our lives. Come join us for stories, songs, and a craft about May flowers and the bugs that love them. The Story of Coppelia Wednesday, May 14 6:30 - 7:15 PM For all ages. Save our regular “Prairie Breezes” second Wednesday for an extra special treat this month. Join dancers from the Champaign Urbana Ballet Company as they introduce the story of Coppelia and perform excerpts from their upcoming performance of this fast moving ballet, well suited for both children and adults. Pinocchio: Marionette Show Sunday, May 18 3:30 - 4:30 PM For all ages. The Elsenpeter Marionettes tell the story of Pinocchio in a unique presentation that will inspire both adults and children. Come see our hero overcome his own selfishness, rescue his father, and become a “real boy!” Get in the game, READ ! Summer Reading Begins Tuesday, May 27 For preschool through 6th grade Sign up in the Children’s Department for a summer of reading fun. Read 10 books to earn a book of your choice from The Friends of The Urbana Free Library and many coupons from local businesses. Read more for our end of summer raffle in August.
