Do the royal Tudors enthrall
you? Are you mesmerized by
tales of the Far East? Do you
wonder about life in Germany
before World War II? Or do you
just want to escape from 21st
century central Illinois for a few hours? Join us this
summer as UFL Reads – our book club for adults –
investigates past times in three acclaimed tales of
historical fiction.
We will kick off UFL Reads on Sunday,
June 22, with Philippa Gregory’s novel
of love, sex, ambition, and intrigue in
the Tudor court of Henry VIII – The
Other Boleyn Girl. Join us from 2:00
to 3:00 p.m. in the MacFarlane-Hood
reading room located on the main
level of the library.
Future UFL Reads titles will be Snow Flower and
the Secret Fan, by Lisa See (July 27) and The Book
Thief, by Markus Zusak (August 24.)
We have multiple editions of each of these titles. Please ask at the Adult Reference Desk if you need help finding a copy. You can also call us at 217-367-4405 or email us at reference@urbanafreelibrary.org.
