The Coldest Girl in Coldtown

Tana knew the party wasn’t the greatest of ideas.  It was all the way out in the country, and more than likely than not her ex-boyfriend Aiden was going to be there.  But Pauline, her best friend, was off having fun at a theater camp, and Tana needed to do something that summer night.  Yet when she wakes up the next morning in the bathtub of her friend’s house after completely passing out she’s starting to question her own life choices.

As she exits the bathroom, she prepares herself to be made fun of by her friends for falling asleep, but she doesn’t run into any of them.  That is, until she reaches the main floor and finds everyone from the party dead--their blood completely drained by vampires.  Not only that, Aiden survived the massacre, but he’s Cold--one of the vampires bit him and if he drinks human blood he will become a vampire too.

The only way Tana can help Aiden from being thrown into a government lab is to take him to Coldtown, a place where vampires live supposedly “contained,” a place humans can enter, but never leave.  Safety is never guaranteed in Coldtown, especially when Tana finds herself caught up in the mystery of Gavriel—a slightly insane vampire on a quest for vengeance.
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is the latest read by prolific author Holly Black.  If you’re looking for a chilly, suspenseful read this winter, give this book a try. Spoiler alert: there will be blood.
