Thank you for your questions and continued interest in The Urbana Free Library. Since their last public statement on June 20, the library Board is still in the process of addressing the issues the community has raised.
Here are some things we can tell you:
- The shipment from Better World Books has arrived and staff will begin the process of re-evaluating the titles and selecting items to return to the collection. Remaining items will go to the Friends of the Library for their book sales.
- The Executive Director has explored the feasibility of televising future Board meetings. The results of this feasibility study will be reported at the Board meeting on Tuesday, July 9.
- Board meeting packets from Fiscal Year 2010/2011 to the present have been added to the agendas and meeting minutes, previously made available on the library’s website. The Board packets, agendas, and meeting minutes can be accessed on the website through the “Your Right to Know” footer at the bottom of the homepage.
- The Statistics on Weed Lists were posted on the “News & Events” section on the homepage of the library’s website on June 28.
For continuing updates, please visit the library’s website at urbanafreelibrary.org and check the “News & Events” section of the homepage.
